I saw a really cheap ham at the supermarket and I thought to myself, “What the heck! I could try it, it’s so cheap.” And so I did. When I got home, I took some slices, fried it and when I took a bite, I was very much disappointed as only a cheap ham could do.
That’s what I got for what I paid for. Luncheon meats in cans taste much, much better!
Anyway, it wasn’t really a complete lost because I was able to use the rest of the ham as meat substitutes to some of the meals that I later cooked. They were more like fillers to me. So I guess it was a lesson learned for me. That next time I buy something that’s really cheap, I should not expect great things from it. That quality does come at a premium, and that if quality is all I want then I definitely have to pay the price.
